6 months old...

Well....Alyssa is now 6 months old. I can't believe how time has flown by. She is weighing in at 16lbs and is 25 3/4 inches long. She is changing so much each day, it's amazing how quickly she learns. She is learning to sit on her own, trying to hold her bottle, and reaching for toys and anything Mark and I have.

She loves her play time, but hates to take naps. She might miss something. She is also really beginning to babble a lot. She just jabbers all day now. She is sitting at the table with us at dinner now in her highchair.

She got to taste french fries last night. We met Nana, Granddaddy, Brother Jeff, and Mrs. Cathy last night for dinner. She kept reaching for the fries on my plate, and finally got one. Once she had the taste of it, she starting grabbing more. She had one in each hand before she was done..lol! She doesn't seem to want to eat her baby food...I guess I know why..she has a grown up taste for foods.

Playtime

Alyssa has learned to play peek-a-boo now. She'll cover her face with the towel and wait for us to ask "where's Alyssa?" Then she pulls the towel down and laughs. She has also started to look for us in the room..I was holding her and she was leaning over my shoulder to see where Mark was at.

She had a lot of fun playing with the ball..it also helped her sitting by herself to balance on.

She saw this "flea" toy at Walgreens and loved it, so of course we had to buy it.

Birthday parties & more!

On Sunday, we had a group day out with some friends at Incredible Pizza Company. It was a lot of fun to hang out with lots of folks with kiddos close in age. Alyssa couldn't do many of the games, but she was in awe of all the lights and sounds. She had a lot of fun talking to Leslie and Maddy...not sure what she told them though..lol! She did end up getting about 60 prize tickets...thanks to Daddy, and got a purple football out of it.

This has been a busy weekend for us. We had birthday parties and more to go to. There was a birthday party for our cousin Alex, he turned 1 year old this week. It was a nice family gathering, and Alyssa got to show off for everyone. She loved playing with the balloon, I just hoped it wouldn't pop on her. I think she got a little jealous of Alex crawling around the floor...she didn't want to sit still for anyone. Destiny and Derek both wanted to hold her and play with her..they're gonna be great babysitters later on!

Puppy love...

Alyssa has discovered Colby. She watches him every move he makes, and laughs so hard at him. Mark has helped her "chase" Colby, and she goes crazy. It is so funny to watch her eyes light up when he comes into the room. She tries to talk to him too. I think he's going to be in trouble as soon as she's mobile and crawling...he's gonna have to hide permanently under the bed. He gives her kisses, and she tries to give him some too. She gets so disappointed when he runs off, and she keeps looking for him. I think she loves her puppy!

Bath time...

Well...Alyssa has finally outgrown the baby tub we had, but she's not quite ready for the big tub. So we got the in between tub out for her. It was a shock for her at first, but she loves the water. She likes to splash a lot and get Mommy & Daddy all wet. We need to get her a few new toys for the tub. She giggles so loud when she's splashing the water...it's so cute.

Astro's game friends..

Well...there has been a baby boom at my office. In the past year, we have had 4 babies born. This is our new friend Lyndon and his mommy, Stephanie. He is 10 weeks old now...and almost as big as Alyssa. His daddy works with me, and we are always talking about the babies and comparing notes about them. These were taken at the Astro's game a few weeks ago. Alyssa's bloomers were a little tight...so that's why you are seeing her diaper..lol!

Maggie & Kailey

My friend Maggie and her daughter Kailey came for a visit on Sunday. Kailey will be 2 in November...she has really grown. She and Alyssa played a lot together. Kailey was giving her toys and showing her how to play with them. She also gave lots of love to Alyssa...I see some future best friends! We need to get them together with Madeline for a play date, so they can all be best friends! It was a great visit...it's so nice to have Maggie back in Texas again! Next time we'll have to go visit them.

Pool time!

Well...after learning that they were having water play at daycare, Mark and I got Alyssa a little pool to play in. She wasn't sure of it at first, but once she realized she could splash the water with her hands..she went crazy. She was laughing so hard. Mark and I were completely soaked. We got some video of it, but I've got to get it off the camera. It was really cute to see her splashing around..now we need to go to Nana's and try out the big pool!

Well...there's been a lot going on at our house lately. Alyssa is growing so fast. She now rolls all over the floor, we can't keep her in one place. I put her on the floor by the couch and she starts off towards the hall just laughing. She loves playing in her exersaucer and has discovered herself in the mirror! I think she may take after me and start talking to herself...lol! She is starting to like her cereal more...I think she just wants to play with it though, see below. She is also starting to play peekaboo with us. She'll hide her face with the blanket or burp rag..then pull it down to see us. She also said "mama"...I'll swear to it!! LOL!

We took her to the Astro's game for my firm family event. She wasn't too thrilled with the game, but got to show off her shades.

She went for a checkup yesterday, and she has thrush, but she is great otherwise. She is weighing right at 16lbs by their scale.
