5 Months Old

Well...Alyssa is 5 months old now. Where has the time gone?? She is growing so fast. She is weighing in at 16lbs 4 oz on our scales. She is really beginning to show a lot of different emotions and facial expressions. We can really see her concentrating on things now. She loves to roll over now that she has mastered going both directions. We can lay her on the floor and she rolls until she can't go any further. Then she gets mad, and we have to move her. We've started trying a little cereal, but she's not real interested in it at this point. I think it's too bland for her..lol! I'm really beginning to think she is teething. She is drooling like crazy and constantly chewing on her fingers. I can't feel any bumps yet...but I bet we will be seeing a tooth soon.

We got her a new exersaucer. She loves this thing. She turns in circles to play with all the toys on it and loves to bang the music box to make it play. I just loved the look of concentration on her face with the book. She was so focused on how to move the pages.

just like daddy. I thought this was so cute. They were watching tv together. It made me think of many days to come in the future watching cartoons and movies. Just one more Daddy!!

5 months old!! What a cute little sailor girl.

Standing tall...5 months
Isn't she cute!

I had Alyssa laying on my legs and she just started laughing so hard. Mark didn't get the camera in time, but we got a few shots. She is quickly becoming a major daddy's girl!

Chillin' with Aunt Shelly

Come here toes!!
I've almost got it Mom!

4 month checkup

So...we're a little behind on her well check appt, but we finally made it in. Alyssa is weighing in at 15lbs and is 25 inches long. That puts her in the 75th percentile for her weight and the 90th for her height. She impressed the doctor with all her skills. She was grabbing her feet, trying to stand, and even rolled from her back to her tummy for the doctor. She said those were 6 month milestones...looks like we've got a smart little girl on our hands. She did really well with the shots too...she only cried for a few minutes. She was over it before we even checked out of the office.

trying to stand
next stop...my mouth!
I don't wanna keep my socks on, Mom!!!

July 4th

The three of us went over to my parent's house for the 4th. It was kinda funny that we were celebrating America's independence, but we ate fajitas and the fixings...lol! Anyways, it gave Alyssa a chance to wear her July 4th outfit. She also got to show off for Nana, Grandaddy, John, Jessie, Shelly, and Destiny & Derek. She rolled over and laughed and talked up a storm for them. We even put her feet into the pool to see how she would react to it..she seemed a little unsure about the pool. Maybe next time we'll try getting her in it fully.

Rolly Polly

Well...it's official now. Alyssa has rolled over for us! She can now roll from her back to her tummy, and then back to her back. It seems to have become her new favorite game. She likes to roll over as soon as we lay her down...and will do it several more times in a row. Looks like she's going to be more mobile soon. She won't stay on the blanket anymore.

Hollywood...here I come!
Maddy & Leslie
Love that smile...

Well...we had some visitors on Alyssa's 4 month birthday. Leslie and Madeline came over to see us...it had been way too long since the last visit. Alyssa slept the whole time then, but she was wide awake for this visit. I got some good pics of Leslie and Maddy together, but wasn't so successful at the shots of the girls together in their matching outfits. I had gotten that outfit for Maddy for Christmas, so when I got it as a gift at my baby shower, my plans for pictures started. I guess our scrapbook pages will now be of how they wouldn't sit still for us...lol! We had a great time hanging out with them...I see many more play dates for the girls in the future..and we may have to try again for the matching outfits. If we're brave enough!
We even tried to get a few more of our family..thanks to Leslie for taking those. Maddy did get a little jealous of Leslie holding Alyssa, but she managed fairly well. She got to play with Alyssa and her toys a lot, even if they are a little young for her now. Every time Leslie went to pick Alyssa up...Maddy came running to sit in her lap. She's so cute though!
