2 month birthday

Well.....today is Alyssa's 2 month birthday. She's growing like a weed. She laughs and smiles at us all the time. She goes to the doctor on Friday for her checkup, but I've weighed her on our scale and she is close to 12 lbs now. Her eyes have lightened up to a bright blue and she's starting to lose some of her hair..hopefully that will grow back soon. I did go and get several bows and headbands so she looks like a little girl. She is also trying to roll over and scoot on her back. I've found her in a different position from what I lay her down in when I get her out of her crib.

Ready for Church

Alyssa got to go to church on Sunday and visit with everyone there. I'm not sure who had more fun, her or the ladies at church. When we got home, I had to get some pictures in her yellow dress.

Weekend plans

Alyssa and I spent the weekend at my parent's house since Mark was in Huntsville diving. We had lots of fun, and I think Nana and Granddaddy did too. Alyssa got to spend some time on the back porch, try out a new swing, and sleep with Nana and Granddaddy. She also slept through the night on Saturday...not sure when she'll do that again though. I think she wanted to get into the pool with Destiny and Derek, but she's still a little too small...even if she does have a swim suit already.

Here's a video clip of her talking with Granddaddy.

Miscellaneous Pics

I think we may have a thumb sucker on our hands. She is trying very hard to find her thumb. It's so cute to see. Alyssa is also starting to swat at toys dangled above her. I've hung some toys on her car seat and bouncy seat, and she is realizing that when she moves her arm they move too. Her eyes got really wide the first time she hit the butterfly toy and it jingled.

Dress Up Time

We went to a baby shower this past weekend for Tami and Jeff. This gave us a reason to get Alyssa dressed up. She got to wear a pretty dress and bow, then I had to do a mini photo shoot with her. She looks like a little doll in these pictures. It's hard to believe that she's almost 2 months old now. I knew time would go by fast, but not this fast.

We got some of Alyssa's three week portraits back. This is one in her Easter dress. Doesn't she look beautiful.

Wiggle worm

I hope this works...I took a little video clip of Alyssa the other day. She is soo cute when she wiggles. She's starting to coo and laugh at us now, and she has the cutest little smile.

Floppy Hats

Last weekend, we got a gazebo to put in the backyard. So, while Mark was opening the box up and figuring out how to put it up, Alyssa and I decided to sit outside in the swing. It was pretty bright out, so I got one of the hats she got to put on her. It was a little big but covered her face and neck. She didn't much care for it, but we got some cute pictures of her in it. She did enjoy sitting outside in the swing though.

Tummy Time

Alyssa is starting to like tummy time more..that is when she's not fussing or sleeping or eating...lol! She can already lift her head up almost completely and is starting to use her shoulders to push up. We've been letting her sleep on her tummy during the day, and she can turn her head back and forth. We've been getting a few more giggles and coos from her also. I think it may be about time to break out the tummy time play mat and see how Alyssa likes it.

One Month Birthday

On March 28, I put Alyssa in her bouncer and took some pictures to celebrate her being 1 month old. She smiled a little for me, but mainly just wanted me to finish and pick her up.

Howdy friends & family!

Well...this is all new to us, but I thought we'd give it a try. A little over six weeks ago, life in the London household changed dramatically. We were blessed with a precious baby girl on February 28, 2008. Alyssa Briann weighed in at 8lbs 8oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. She made her grand entrance to the world at 8:08am. She is absolutely beautiful, even if Mark and I are partial...

We came home from the hospital a few days later and tried to start adjusting to our new lives. I knew it would be a big change and lots of work, but I was still unprepared for how much it takes to care for a baby, as was Mark. The first night at home, Alyssa gave us our first challenge. She wanted nothing to do with her crib and woke up about every hour. The first week at home was a hard one. The next night went a little better for all of us.

So, here we are 6 weeks later, and life is getting better. She is sleeping at night and waking about two times a night. She doesn't really like to sleep much during the day. She's now weighing 11lbs 6 oz, and loves to look around and play. She is holding her head up wonderful and focusing on objects, and she has even starting smiling and cooing at us. It's the most beautiful thing in the world to see your child smile at you.

I'm going to post some pictures from day one through 6 weeks...we only have about 200 on the computer now. I just can't stop taking pictures of Alyssa and neither can Mark.
