Bluebonnets & Alyssa

We missed out last year on the bluebonnets, so I really wanted to get some this year.  I found out about this patch that was actually really close to us.  It was in Kemah, and the bluebonnets still looked beautiful.  You can definately see where people have been posing for pictures in the patches, and there were four other cars there taking pictures that morning.  I got some really cute pictures of Alyssa.  She doesn't even look like a baby, much less a toddler anymore.  She is really starting to look like a big girl!! She looks so much older than 2!!

Spring projects

Mark and I decided to update our backyard a little bit.  Home Depot had the brick pavers on sale, so we took the plunge...ha ha!  Mark started putting in a patio off the back of the house with them.  It looks great and really looks like a backyard now.  Of course, he had some help from Alyssa....or was it more of a mess from Alyssa?  She loved to "diggin dirt"  as she said.  She would get her shovel and dig around in the dirt, and then she'd grab it by the handfuls and throw it on the stones.  She was helping Daddy!!

Digging with her tools!

Where do you want it Daddy??

No...it goes right here!!

Putting the dirt back into the bag...saving it for later!

Cheese Mommy!

So now that the patio is done...we wanted to get a patio set.  However....Alyssa got one first.  Her Nana and Granddaddy were at Lowes and found this one just for her!! It has three chairs, a table, and an umbrella.  Now all she needs is the little coconuts and umbrellas for her drinks!

Chillin' under the umbrella...yes, her sunglasses are upside down.  Thats the way she likes them.

We need some drinks now!

Well....Alyssa loves the Iphone too!  She knows how to unlock it and get to the games.  Watch out where you leave your phone!

Easter 2010

This year Alyssa got to see both sets of grandparents on Easter.  We missed out on the egg hunts since Easter fell before tax season was over.  We'll catch up on those next year.

Fun Stuff....Silly times

Alyssa is learning so much so fast.  She is carrying on conversations with us now..and getting pretty bossy.  She lets us know when something is "too tight" or not what she wants.  She knows several animals and the sounds they make, the colors blue, purple, green, and pink.  She can even count to ten now!!  We've had to get door knob protectors since she learned how to open the doors to whatever room she wants to go into.  She can also say her name now, but it comes out "Syssa" instead of Alyssa.

She likes to "drive" Momma's truck in the mornings when we go to school.  It's just down the street, so I let her sit in my lap and she holds onto the steering wheel.  Her favorite thing to do is play outside, regardless of the weather.  She is getting to be very stubborn and very bossy!!!  Just like her daddy..ha ha!  Anyways, here are a few pics of her I managed to get recently.

Making funny faces at us!

Driving Mom's truck..driver's get younger every year...ha ha!

Alyssa loves to be outside...and to swing!

Birthday Fun!

We had Alyssa's 2nd birthday party at The Children's Museum of Houston.  It was a really great place to have it.  Since her friend Maddy and her are a year apart, they had a joint birthday party.  As you can see, we picked out a Strawberry Shortcake theme...I think I may have had one many years ago..ha ha!

We had a great time, and lots of friends and family came to celebrate with us.  Yes, the girl's had matching shirts and bows!  Alyssa was completely tuckered out after getting soaking wet at the water area.  That girl loves playing in the water...must get that from her Daddy!  She has grown so much...I can't believe she's already 2!!  All she has left is to be potty trained...then she's no longer a baby!  I don't think we have too much longer before that happens.  She was 29lbs and 33 1/2 inches at her checkup.

Alyssa got a little scared with everyone singing to them, so she needed a little help blowing out her candles.

Soo many presents to open.

Granddaddy got her a doll from Japan!

Let the playtime begin!!
I'm noticing a trend here...she's got the Bradley (or is it the Guice) family trait....she has to stick out her tongue when she's concentrating on something...ha ha!

Wow....I'm all wet!!  YIPPEE!!

Her first earrings....no real ones for a while!

Trying on PawPaw's hat...then her first dress up princess clothes.
