Little Shopper...

We took Alyssa to Toys-R-Us last week to see what she wanted for Christmas.  She mainly ran through the store...but I think we found one for sure toy to get her.  She was even putting items into the shopping cart..too cute.

Happy Halloween!!

This was the first year that Alyssa went Trick or Treating.  She wanted to be a princess for Halloween, and luckily we had a princess dress complete with crown and shoes.  She didn't want to wear the crown though.  We decided to walk around our neighborhood this year and experience the fun.  It only took a few houses before Alyssa figured out what to do.  She wanted to run up to every house and ring the doorbell, and loved that they would give her candy.  She would reach into the bowls and grab it by the fistful..ha ha!  There's only one problem, my child doesn't like chocolate!!  How can that be??  It's a good thing there was lots of other candy to be had.  She was having so much fun, she didn't want to go back home.  One of the houses also gave her a flameless candle that was in one of their jack-o-lanterns.  She wanted us to leave it on in her room when she went to bed.  Anways, here's some pics from last night.

Our Princess...

Alyssa is really starting to love dressing up in her princess dresses.  She will put on every necklace and bracelet that she has and her princess shoes.  Then she goes clip clopping around the house.  Isn't she just the cutest thing?

She's now in her own room with a big girl bed, and she has a lot more room to play with her toys.  She isn't a baby anymore...I'm kinda sad about that.  She's almost completely potty trained and sitting at the table with us now.  No more highchair at our house for now.  She is always singing and counting.  Alyssa knows most of the letters in the alphabet too!  She is a smart little girl!

When she is getting tired and starts to yawn, we would tell her "somebody's tired."  Now, when Mark or I yawn..she tells us "somebody's tired."  She also likes to tell us what we "want" to do.  She will ask if we want to play, and if we say not really...she says "yes, you do!"

Now I lay me down to sleep...wait, it's not bedtime!!

Surprise!!

Texas Renaissance Festival

We took Alyssa to the Renaissance Festival this past weekend.  It was a first for all three of us.  We had a great time, ate some good food, and saw a lot of shows.  Alyssa was tuckered out by the time we left, and slept all the way home.  She got her face painted for the first time, and she couldn't decide whether to keep her fairy costume on or off.

Waiting at the gates to get in.

 My first face painting!!

Memorial Day fun!!

Alyssa and I spent the weekend at my parent's for Memorial Day.  Mark was still in Florida on a dive trip, so we headed out for some fun.  Alyssa couldn't wait to get into the pool...she even helped Granddaddy clean all the "buggies" out of the pool.  We also celebrated Destiny's 12th birthday with a pool party..what else..ha ha!

Ready to get into the pool!

Aunt Shelly loves to tickle Alyssa...
and throw her up in the air.  It looks like Alyssa likes it too!

Big girl bed!!

We had an interesting night on evening when putting Alyssa to bed.  She cried as usual when we put her down in her crib, but after a few minutes it got quiet.  We thought that she must have decided to go on to sleep.  However, she suddenly appeared in the living room looking at us like we were the meanest parents ever for leaving her in there by herself.  She crawled out of the crib a few more times, so we made the transition to a big girl bed.  She even helped her daddy put the bed together...she is such a good little helper!!  Now...our only problem is keeping her in bed.  She likes to wake up midways through the night and come to our room and get in our bed!

Cheese, Mom!!

This goes here...see!!

Almost done with the bed...

Testing out the jump factor!

Perfect!!!

Mother's Day weekend

Mark usually ends up going out of town for work every year on Mother's Day.  This year, he actually left the weekend after, so we got to spend the weekend with his Mom for the first time in several years.  We went up to Huntsville to see them.  Alyssa loves to be outside, and they have a big yard for her to play in.  She also found out how much fun it was to ride PawPaw's 4-wheeler.  She kept telling us to "go faster!!"

Alyssa being silly on the playground.  One of her new favorite things is to make funny faces!

Bluebonnets & Alyssa

We missed out last year on the bluebonnets, so I really wanted to get some this year.  I found out about this patch that was actually really close to us.  It was in Kemah, and the bluebonnets still looked beautiful.  You can definately see where people have been posing for pictures in the patches, and there were four other cars there taking pictures that morning.  I got some really cute pictures of Alyssa.  She doesn't even look like a baby, much less a toddler anymore.  She is really starting to look like a big girl!! She looks so much older than 2!!
