Various Pictures from the summer!

Well...Alyssa is officially 18 months old now. Where has the time gone?? She is growing up so much, she's definitely a toddler! Let's see, she's hanging steady at 25 lbs and is getting taller every day. She is now talking all the time. She can say snack (her favorite by the way), Nana, nanny, juice, shoes (although this sounds kinda like juice), 'side (outside), and her new favorite word is down. Everything is down, she'll pull you to the floor and say "down!". She also likes to grab Daddy's shirt and pull him throughout the house. She loves dancing to everything, and is getting to be a sneaky little girl. She's also very stubborn!!!

A few funny things...Daddy has taught her to say "Aghhh!!" when she finishes a drink. It is too cute to see her. She is also helping us do lots of stuff. She helps put the laundry up, even if it is in the drawer of the end table in the living room. It surprises me how much she is learning just by watching us do things.

The other night we were getting ready for bath time. I usually take her to her room first to get ready. Well, that night when I put her down after undressing her, instead of running to the bathroom, she crawled up into the rocking chair. She turned around, sat up, and started to pee-pee in the chair. Then she started laughing when I realized what she was doing...it was shocking at the time, but I find it pretty funny now. Needless to say, she doesn't get to get in the chair anymore unless she has a diaper on... ha ha!

She is constantly chasing Colby around the house. She'll grab his toy and squeak it to get his attention, but when he runs toward her, she drops it and runs the other way. I think she wants him to chase her, but hasn't got it down yet.

I just love this silly picture of her...she was dancing to the music on tv.

Like I said..she's into everything!

Yummy oatmeal...

Can I have some more??

What a precious little face!!

Chillin' with Daddy! (Mommy is always behind the camera it seems)

Peek a boo...where's Alyssa??

Where's she hiding??
Here I am!!!

Mommy..it's hard to walk in your shoes!!

She is learning to use a spoon and fork, not always so good with it, but keeps trying.

Digging into the yogurt!!
This girl can eat when she wants too!

We got her this 4wheeler a while back..she is now getting the hang of it and has to ride it whenever we go outside!

Happy Anniversary to Nanny and PawPaw!!

July 5, 2009- John and Dororthy celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. We managed to pull off a surprise party for them to celebrate. It turned out to be a really nice party! Congrats to them...

Summer fun

So...it's been a while since I updated this thread. We've been doing a lot of nothing this summer. Just some various cute pictures of my little girl...yes, I said little girl. She's not looking or acting like my baby anymore.

She's now saying book, ball, cup, daddy, mommy, what's that (wa dat), want that (wan dat), hi, bye, block, and duck. She can pick between her toys and get the bear, rabbit, or duck depending on which you ask for. She is also very inquisitive and tries to figure everything out. It's so funny to watch her face as she's thinking about things.

Chillin watching tv.

Playing on her new splash pad/pool in the back yard.

Yes...that's a bikini she's wearing.

It was hot, she needed a drink..lol!

Mommy painted her toenails, and Alyssa wanted hers done too!

Her after the ponytail was taken down..

The mow hawk left from the ponytail.

What a cute face! Who can resist that look??

She loves to empty the cabinet out...I caught her this time..

Don't you need a bowl, Mommy?? Just trying to help!

Which one next???

My first pigtails!

PIGTAILS!!!
Aren't the bows too cute! I'm not sure she's so thrilled with them.

This little toy is a lifesaver in the car. It teaches the letters, and she loves to push the buttons.

What a face....I'm not sure if it's for the camera or the pigtails..ha ha!

Alyssa is finally getting enough hair for ponytails and pigtails...even if they do stick straight up! Her Daddy thinks they look funny, but I think they are adorable. She will let me put them in, and even tries to put the bows in her hair. After a while though, she will try to pull them out. If she forgets about them, we're good to go! Since she is seeming to be more of a tomboy than I am...I have to take what I can get. She loves to be outside playing and running. It doesn't seem to bother her that it's over 100 degrees outside..lol!
Alyssa is now 16 months old and weighing in at 24.4 lbs. She is growing up soo fast, and is so smart. She walks around constantly asking.."what's that?" Although, it sounds more like.. "wa dat?" She is also saying cup, daddy, ma (sometimes we get mom), duck, and dog. She can show you her nose, ears, head, and mouth, and even point out your nose and ears for you. She is starting to learn animals too. She'll show you the duck, bear, turtle, fish, and rabbit in her toys, but she's not saying the words just yet for all of them.

Palm Beach

This past weekend we met some friends down at the Palm Beach in Moody Gardens. Alyssa had a great time playing in the water, and especially in the sand. This is a really cool place, it had sandy beaches and clear water (all chlorine pools). There was even a splash pad with sprinklers and water buckets that dropped water on the kiddos. Alyssa had a ball running through the sprinklers and getting all wet...she was laughing so hard when it would spray up on her. She helped build some sand castles, and then knock them over. I was really impressed that she even tried to swim some. Mark would hold her in the water flat and she would kick her feet and move her arms to try and swim. We did have a few scares...she would take off running for the water without us and would dunk her face in the water. She tried to swallow some of the water, but laughed about it.

Let me do it, Daddy!!!

Making a sand castle...or ruins..

The sand goes in the bucket...then out.
Maddy preferred putting the sand in the water over buckets...

Walking around looking for a good place to fall in the water.

Swimming!

Alyssa and Mommy after the sprinklers.

Gotta love that smile...such a big grin!

Getting ready for nap time after a long day at the beach. I just love this little cover up.

Pool Party

Destiny had a pool party for her birthday, of course. It was Alyssa's first chance to get into a big pool (other than the little one ring splash pool in our back yard). She was a little overwhelmed at first, but then seemed to think of it as a big bath tub. She was splashing everyone and kicking me. She had a great time, and after we got out, she kept trying to get back in. We would be up on the porch and she would take off running for the pool. She'd get half way up the steps before I could catch her. I think she's gonna be like Destiny and love the pool.

She loved this duck...we're going to have to get some more toys for her.
The birthday girl!! I can't believe she's 11 now.

Trying out the turtle float.

Looking cute in her floppy hat and shades...though she wouldn't leave them on.
