Granddaddy was tickling her...

We didn't make it to our family's Easter gathering. Alyssa decided she didn't want to sleep, and kept Mommy and Daddy up until 4 am. We were so tired and cranky all day. So, we missed all the festivities and fun, but there will always be more.

She is getting to be an independent little girl, and soo smart. She'll go to the highchair now when she's hungry and point to her snacks. She'll also go running to her bedroom when it's time to get ready for bath time. I'll get her ready in there, then we go to the bathtub. She can point to her nose, say bye bye, and eating everything she can get a hold of. She also knows which bag is her diaper bag. The other day I heard this grunting down the hall...when I looked she was dragging her bag to me. When she got to me with the bag, she pointed at the pocket where the snacks are and wouldn't stop until I got her snacks out. I think her favorite thing to do is empty baskets or cabinets. If there's a door open, she's going through it.

Her Oma Maggie got her a bunny rabbit for Easter that is as big as she is..she loved it. She drags it around the house, and falls down on it.

One Year old!!

Alyssa is ONE year old!!!

We finally managed to get her pictures done for the first birthday. She really wanted no part of the dress, the photographer, or the props. We tried to sway her with puffs, but that only semi worked. We did manage to get a few smiles by singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider song to her. She's really starting to show her personality and independence. She is saying "no no" all the time. If we ask her if she wants to go outside, she almost runs to the door and grabs the handle. She is becoming more of a little girl than a baby...I miss her cute little baby face!!

Alyssa is WALKING!!!

Yippee !! Alyssa started taking steps about two weeks before her first birthday. She was so excited to realize that there was another way to get around. She would take one or two steps between the table and the couch at first. Then she started taking a few more towards me. On Valentine's day, she just stood up and walked across the living room to me. She showed off for everyone at her birthday party. Now, she is walking almost every where and doesn't crawl as much. It seems so unreal to have her walking already. Can she really be this old already??!! I'm not ready to be chasing her around, but it does help for her to play outside. She loves being outside and chasing Colby. I think that was her real motivation for walking..the poor dog. He is wonderful with her. I love hearing her laugh when he walks by her, then she's off to follow him.

Valentine's Day fun.

She loved riding on the four-wheeler with her daddy. Especially when he went fast...She put her arms up in the air, and had both feet locked on the four wheeler.

Being Silly!!

For some reason, Alyssa loves to play in the refrigerator. Anytime the door is opened and she sees it, she has to play in it. She'll get mad and have a little temper tantrum if she doesn't get to. She tries to climb onto the shelves or pull things out of the shelves on the door. She will empty anything she can find, but she doesn't put things back..ha ha!

She is starting to finally figure out the sippy cup. She'll drink fine from it, as long as someone holds it for her.

Never mind, I'll do it!
